Archipelago stays, gatherings & retreats
A little red schoolhouse by the sea.
A characterful old schoolhouse in the Finnish archipelago — a place to stay the night, gather for live music, hold a quiet retreat, and step into the hair salon on the premises.
The place
A schoolhouse with a second life.
Once a village school, now a warm gathering place on the water. Whitewashed rooms, a wood stove, long tables, and the quiet of the outer islands — a short drive and a ferry hop from the mainland, right on the archipelago ring road.
Every room keeps a little of the old character: painted panelling, antique furniture, and small surprises — like the wardrobe with a hand-drawn constellation map on its door.
What we do
Four ways to be here.
Stay
Lodging on the water
Rooms and whole-house stays for couples, families, and small groups. Wake to the sea, cycle the ring road, sauna in the evening.
Gather
Live music & events
Intimate concerts, celebrations, and gatherings in a room built for good acoustics and long evenings. Book the house for your own event.
Retreat
Writers & makers' retreats
Quiet, off-season weeks for writers, researchers, and small teams — the whole house, meals, and the archipelago's silence. Our best-kept secret for autumn and winter.
Salon
Hair by Jenni
A working hair salon on the premises — a rare thing this far into the islands. Locals and guests welcome by appointment.
Beyond the summer
The archipelago is quietest — and best — off-season.
Summer fills up fast. But autumn and winter are when the schoolhouse comes into its own: retreat weeks, small gatherings, and the whole house to yourself. Ask about off-season rates.
